Hello again everyone. My name is Emily. This is my seventh contest.
This time around I want a something different. A form poem.
I will post a link of a list of form poetry and give you a prompt or three.
I do have a couple rules so PLEASE read them. Oh, the website I am sending
you to has a lot of choices. Click on one and it will tell you how to write
one and what the expectations are. I WILL CHECK and I will score it along
those lines. I'll add points as I get them.
GO HERE TO CHOOSE A FORM OF POETRY!
Rules:
1. Try something you haven't ever done.
2. Sonnets, Free verse, Haiku, and Acrostic are NOT preferred.
3. Adult and Erotica is fine as long as you label it! I'm old enough to read.
4. Please don't bash other poets work. It's degrading and rude.
5. If you have questions or suggestions please feel free to message me.
6. I want original work. I'm tired of cliche work.
7. Please include the form and the prompt in authors notes.
8. Feel free to reserve. Be warned though, Finish it or else.
PROMPTS:
1. Picture.
2. ANYTHING! (some people hate restrictions)
3. Your Deepest Secret
4. Poetry itself.
5. Your beliefs on; love, lust, sex, and/or marriage.
6. Under water.
7. Phobias.
8. A past lover.
9. An Emotion
10. Use a quote you love.
-Thank you everyone!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 23, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes: THE END HAS FINALLY COME!
I know you've probably been checking your computers everyday the past week to see if I've announced the winners. I'm glad to say I spent two and a half hours trying to read over them as carefully as possible.
There were six poems that really stood out to me.
Gold: ...And Time Drags On
Silver: Condemned
Bronze: Forgotten Name
HM: Drowning (Etheree)
HM:Lust (Diamante Mix)
HM: Inflamed (Palindrome)
Thank you again for your patience.
Okay, for the ones that didn't place;
It's not that they were bad poems and no hard
feelings if you choose to take them out of this contest, they just weren't enough to inspire me.
And that's it. With this, the contest is over.

ummmmm
If I'm supposed to write a form I've never written before ...
How can it include a prewrite?

Atta boy Jeff!
-
-
I have just the thing for this!
I wrote a Kyrielle ... something or another a while back. I'll have to double check it, however, because I think it may be a form of a sonnet.
Anywho, wonderful idea. Best of luck in judging. -
-
I just don't want a normal sonnet.
-
-
WOW. It's totally like me to miss something like that!
Thank you so much.

A STORM PANTOUM
One streak of lightning said to thunder,
“See how men tremble in our wake.
Look how our powers cause such wonder!
They hear and see us and they shake.
“See how men tremble in our wake.
For fear of fire and torrential flood,
They see and hear us and they shake.
Nature’s joint fury curdles blood.
“For fear of fire and torrential flood,
Look how our powers cause such wonder!
Nature’s joint fury curdles blood,”
One streak of lightning said to thunder.
