#115 When I was a kid, school vacations seemed to last forever.

Do you all think that vacations seem a lot shorter now or are you happy with the way they have the system set up?

Does anyone remember how we only went a half day on the first and last days of school? And most of the time you were brought by your parents just to meet the teacher, then you went back home for that last day of freedom?

To be honest, I’m not exactly sure what I’m looking for in this contest. School related poems for sure, but also, maybe some memories of how it use to be………

We know how most kids feel about school so please try not to beat that subject to death.

Instead how about telling me how short or long your vacation was…..

How you enjoy school shopping for all the new supplies……

How much you like the LAST day of school, etc……

How much you like or hate school lunches…..

Remember the wonderful Christmas parties? Now they call them winter holiday parties and want you to bring a book to donate instead of real gift exchanges.


You DO NOT have to write on any of the above suggestions but feel free to do so, if you really want to. I was just giving you some ideals.

You may enter twice, but only one entry can be a prewrite.

    yeah... I do remember the long vacations. but that was in my HomeTown before everything changed. I moved down to where I am now and they start back on a Friday - such as this friday coming up. it does seem like it's getting shorter and shorter.. I remember when we started back near september, but that was like what, 7-8yrs ago. yay for college now though.. get more of a vacation. lol
    sorry I got carried away..... just thought I would share that I CAN relate. hope you get what you are looking for and happy judging!
