Cynewulf has invented a new form - at least, he thinks it a new form - of poetry, a haiku-like form, that uses interrogative in the final line.
The usual haiku 5/7/5 syllable count, ending in a question. Here is an example, one I wrote to try out the form.
{panwulf - time}
slow relentless drops
falling onto weathered rock-
will the water win?
No limit to the number of entries. Usual rules. The judge will answer your panwulf with a new one - keep it going, if you can!
Go write, and have fun! I will increase the winnings as entries come in.

Chiaku beat you to it, Cynney, though true, you don't have to question the ram: http://allpoetry.com/contest/1945340

That is the funniest contest I've ever seen on here! Love it, hope to get some entries like those!
-
I dunno 'bout that ea......Panwulfs (I think Panwu sounds better) have to be a little poignant as well as entertaining.
-
-
yeah, Panwu is better. Not sure about the poignancy - lol - I think the question has more potential for humor than anything else.

I wouldn't really say its much of a new form because a Haiku can end with anything. You could have a poem made up of 2 Haikus just to make a sentence if its possible. But think whatever you want to think! If its a new form Congrats for thinking of it! ^^

Everything that's old is new again - I hope you've written an entry!
-
-
I might enter one soon. My mind isn't much on creative mode at the moment and probably won't be for a while.
-
the key is you must stay up all night responding to each panwulf by another panwulf.
-
-
Ah, I see how you did it - but how do I get them all on the one page?
-
-
I just copied and pasted all the entries & comments into the final notes.
-
-
OK, I'll go back and answer the two entries so far, and keep doing that...oh dear...maybe I won't be able to take the pressure of responding to them all...

Prof Pat Pending
Well, I wasn't going to patent it. I am fairly sure I have seen Japanese haiku that end on an interrogative.
Well I may have done
I can't really remember
have I seen any? -
-
I was thinking about this and I think Chiaku normally had questions coming in the second lines if they were going to show up, though it was not a "rule."
-
-
My whatever-ku/ryu that end on a question aren't always funny intentionally though. Didn't Basho save haiku from becoming lude & humorously silly?
-
-
I don't know. Did Basho ever write one on bukkake?

Thanks for the comment Pania, although I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to mean XP

Thanks for the fun contest - fun form, fun "answers," although you were way too fast for me to keep up with. (I can't text very well either!) Thanks for the silver.

Thanks for playing! I love interactive contests - they add another strata to the fun. ea is so very clever with them, this was an idea of hers that I took and ran.
-
-
dishonored panwu
does low rank make you want to
commit sepuku? -
-
oh, so sorry - Cynewulf was the judge, and I may not have agreed with him...
but thank everyone who came and had fun, and played - I want to run more interactive contests, just wondering about the form, and how to steer them. Any ideas are welcomed.
