Elves, Forests, Fantasy!

I am looking for fantsy poems that tell a story. I am partial to form poetry, but anything goes. The more complete the story is, the higher it scores.

Elves, wizards, witches, trolls, dwarves, dragons, you get the idea. Dark, funny, happy, take your pick.

Suggested forms for storytelling:

Ballad
Ottiva Rima
Rhyme Royale
Quatrain
Epic
Pantoum
Kyrielle
Triolet
Free Verse

Make it as long as it needs to be to tell a story.

RULES:

Don't suck.
Have fun.
Enter as many times as you want.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on August 7
  • Rewards: Gold: 1000, Silver: 1000, Bronze: 1000, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
Thanks all for a wonderful success. Congratulations to the winners!

    Cupcrazy - Dragon's Lair
CricketJeff - The Trident of the Tritons
    Flutterwalk - PoeticLove

The top two are classic fantasy tales and earned their places well. The third place poem is very original and deep. Any of those three could have won. There was not a huge difference.

The rest are not exactly in order, but very close to it. So, do not feel like you have done badly if you did not win. There were several poems in this contest that I felt were winners. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thankis again for a wonderful turnout.

    If I'd known ...

you were accepting prewrites, I'd have entered, but I simply don't feel up to writing much just now. Good luck with the contest in any case.
