WHY::SO::SERIOUS?

Alright so "The Dark Knight" was officially released today (July 18th, 2008) and since it's only the SWEETEST MOVIE EVER, I decided "why should I have all the fun"? So, I'm doing a contest! (you may reserve a spot for 48 hours)

Here are your prompt choices:

1) Write me a humorous poem that CANNOT be serious, hence the title of this contest. Although it must makes sense, and fit together nicely otherwise it will not even win HM.

3) Write me a poem about "The Dark Knight". It can be about either of the following characters and their struggle(s)/choices in the movie

a. Batman himself
b. The Joker
c. Harvey Dent/Two Face
d. Rachel Dawes
OR
e. Batman "The Dark Knight" movie overall.

Here are some quotes to get you inspired:
*[Harvey Dent]: Rachel's told me everything about you.
[Bruce Wayne]: I certainly hope not.

*[Gotham National Bank Manager]: The criminals in this town used to believe in things. Honor. Respect. Look at you! What do you believe in? What do you believe in!
[The Joker]: I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger.

*(my personal favorite) [The Joker]: Why... so... serious?

*[The Joker]: (to Rachel) A little fight in ya. I like that.
[Batman]: Then you're going to love me.

*[Harvey Dent]: The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming!

*[The Joker]: This town deserves a better class of criminal... and I'm gonna give it to them. Tell your men they work for me now. This is *my* city.

*[Harvey Dent]: You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

*[Harvey Dent]: You're Alfred, right?
[Alfred Pennyworth]: That's right, sir.
[Harvey Dent]: (about Rachel) Any psychotic ex-boyfriends I should be aware of?
[Alfred Pennyworth]: Oh, you have no idea.

*[The Joker]: I'm a dog chasing cars. I don't have plans. I just do things. I'm not a schemer.

!!This prompt #2 poem CAN be serious, if you chose it too be. But it must also make sense or it will not even win HM!!

The Dreaded Rules:

1) ABSOLUTELY NO EROTICA, etc. type poems. They will be DQ'd no questions asked.

2) I would prefer no cursing or adult type language, but if you feel it somehow "makes the poem" I may allow it if you title it ADULT. If not, I will warn you once, DQ the next time.

3) Please put the prompt choice in your authors notes. (if picking prompt 2, please put the letter choice along with it so I know what you're talking about!!)

4) HAVE FUN!!! (any questions please message me!! xXxIceQueenxXx)

That movie kicked so much ass, it's really not even fair.
  • Heath Ledger was born for the role as the Joker, and he played it perfectly.
No one will ever, EVER, be able to play that role as well, ever.
And oh, gods, the makeup for Harvey Dent, after he became Two-Face!
That movie was basically the highlight of my life.

I'd be on this in a second, but I don't think I could do the movie justice. I've seen it 3 times already.

You're missing a couple of my favorite Joker quotes, although they're only great in context.

"I'm going to make this pencil disappear."

    "You... complete me."

good luck with judging. I'll be back to read all the entries
