Yesterday, as I was leaving school, I started thinking about all the things I miss from childhood - mostly, things I did with my grandmother (who has fallen severely ill and does not have the same personality she always has).
It occurred to me that everyone misses something, at some time or another. Whether it is something simple (who else misses buying ice cream from the ice cream truck?), or something complex and unbearable (missing a loved one who has passed on).
So, I want you guys to tell me all about what you miss. You are welcome to use humor, and you are welcome to make me cry.
Very simple. It can be in the form of a poem (free-verse or traditional are both fine), or it can be a list or even a short story.
Rules:
1. No pre-writes, sorry.
2. You are welcome to reserve, but this is open to unlimited entries.
3. Watch your grammar and spelling.
4. Try to make it original and creative.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 3, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 9 people
- Final notes: Wow!!! You guys totally blew me away with this one!
Seriously, this was the most difficult contest I've ever judged. I wanted to give a trophy to EVERYONE!
The HM's were all deserving of bronze or better, but unfortunately there are only three of those to give.
I settled on the ones that made my soul ache the most for the winners.
The HM's are in no particular order - as they were all stunning and perfect, and really I tried but couldn't decide which ones should be ahead of others.
You guys were awesome! Please consider entering my big 5 year anniversary contest if you haven't yet!!!
Thanks again for all of your hard work!

age of innocence
Wall to wall blue covers the morning sky
the sun rubs his eyes, not yet fully awake
as he starts to climb up and over the horizon.
The dawn chorus greets his arrival, shadows move and night is on the reatreat.
It is the time of flowers to greet his arrival
petals swing open like many coloured doors as the warmth envelopes and warms the surounding earth.
Soon i will breakfast and then it is outside
sun tanned bodies young and firm now free from the constraints of the colstrophobic classrooms, run wild in unrestrained freedom.
It is the age of childhood the age of innocence.

I am afraid I do not yet have the time to enter this one, but I do thank you for inviting me. I may write something, just because the concept has me thinking, I just won't likely be able to post it til much later. Good luck with the whole thing, though!
