Religion in all its fraudulant glory .. 300 points to all that enter + 4000 for winner

That pope fella is in Australia for world youth day ..Lots of youths from all over the world in Australia wanting to see an old aged pensioner. The catholic priests are falling over themselves with the amount of children in Australia ...It's like a smorgasboard for them! Anyway, millions have been spent getting the old bloke here and looking after him in 7 star accomodation and driving him round in S Class Mercedes Benz cars.

In my opinion....

All the brainwashed little kids have all but forgotten about the sexual molestation that the church is constantly apologizing for.

The brainwashed children have forgotten how religion is just a front for organized crime.

They don't realize religion is the sole cause for war in this day and age.

Religion is nothing short of a glitzy late night telemarketing ad to get you to sign away hard earned money so they can pay for out of court settlements.

Religion censors lives.

Religion ruins lives.

Write something to prove me wrong.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 16
  • Rewards: Gold: 4300, Silver: 300, Bronze: 300
  • Final notes:
I judged this contest the fairest way I knew how.

I put a DVD on, one that I like very much.

I then read each poem only once.

The winner was the one that held my attention to the computer and didn't let me drift back to the DVD.

Second and third maybe caused me to glance momentarily away.

And so on and so forth until the poem I liked least probably gave me a line or two of interest until my attention was forever swayed.

300 points to all (when i work out how to do it) and whatever I said to the winner .. was it 4300 something?

Whatever .. please congratulate the winner thanks .... It would be the christian thing to do, wouldn't it?

I would have considered entering. But I don't agree with your threat at end of page. What is my poem worth if quantity means more than quality to you.

You're writing poetry for me? I thought 99.9% of poets write for themselves, and anything after that is a bonus.

Your poem is worth nothing if its not for yourself, is it?
  • I felt it important to say this.
I am Christian, but I am also definitely not one for the pope, or Catholicism for that matter. In the Christianity that I know, we may collect donations from those who want to give for third world countries and other similar offerings, but we don't shoot commercials like the fake TV evangelists who say pay them if you want to be saved, and then God will solve all your problems. We may look to God for guidance, but we don't think that life gets easier. If nothing else, life gets that much harder. The world's view of religion may be the one that ruins lives, but my view of faith (two different things, religion and faith) is not.

If you still view things the same, that's of your own discretion; all I can do is tell you how I view it. I just hope you don't think that Christianity and Catholicism are the same...or that the pope is the head of such things as my faith.

...Sorry I didn't put this in poetry. ^^' I figured I could say it better without rhyming and rhythmic restraints.
