Oh, and by the way...

Since I have not hosted a contest for a while, and have quite a stockpile of points, I am offering this contest.

This is for a special day.

Your prompt is:

Oh, and by the way....

Please remember the basics:
Good grammar
Correct punctuation
Place your name at the end of the poem
If it is naughty, do it right and not just icky

Anyone hitting the nail on the head will get extra attention.

Judging will be anytime in the next few days. You can reserve, but do not tarry.

Thank you and have fun.

ATTENTION: Since none of the poems have touched on what I am looking for, I am extending it and opening it to more entries. Only two have qualified by following one simple rule. On the chance you figure out why your entry is not acceptable and change it, send me an IM so that I can reread it; I have read through them all and I am not willing to do it again unless there is a reason.

If I do not get what I want, I will judge on those already received. The magic entry is still out there. Read my description carefully.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 28, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Honorable mention: 1 people
  • Final notes:
    Gold- Step-Mother by After-silence
Common Cents In Plain English by artis
We Will Always Remember by Drakostheron
Honorable Mention- Have You Been Told by Bee gee

The Gold winner was chosen because they followed the rules and also wrote something highly positive.

This was for my birthday, the special occasion. Since I had a step-father, I can relate to this one very much. It honours one who seldom gets the credit for raising another's child.

The next two were chosen simply because they followed the rules and also wrote coherent poems. While I agree with neither or them, their positions are respected. Still, artis, you should have know better.

The Honorable Mention was because she followed the rules.

I read everyone else's entries. If you did not sign them, I dismissed them. It was a small and simple but important quirk on my part.

Thank you all for entering. It made for interesting reading. And, do not worry about missing the point; no one at home got it, either.
