Contest AMERICA LAND OF THE FREE AND HOME OF THE BRAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Talking Toni

This contest is for TRUE PATRIOTS ONLY!!!! I don't care about your free speech or your right to dissent!!! This is MY contest and I ALONE make the rules. So if you are a BAsher of AMERICA, save yourself the time and me the trouble of deleting you and just DO NOT ENTER!!! I want NOTHING but PRIDE and APPRECIATION for this GRAND COUNTRY!!!! THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE WAR OR OUR TROOPS,HOWEVER, I WILL ACCEPT POSTIVE WRITES ABOUT EITHER. This is about showing your love and really looking to the past and throughout our history, we have made our mistakes as have ALL OTHER COUNTRIES yet we seem to be the most vilified. SO write What America means to you. Picture yourself and your life and how it would be living in Iraq or Iran or countries that do not embrace freedom such as ours does. There is unfortunately a price for freedom and I for one am sick of Whacked out lefties and the left winged media in our country portraying us as the enemy, when in fact AMERICA has given more humanitarian aid than any other country or countries combined, through both our government, churches, and private support of food, water, money, clothing, you name it. So show me your love for America, support of our troops if it is in a positive way.ALL BASHINGS OF U.S.A. WILL BE DELETED FROM MY CONTEST1!!!! good luck and get penning!!!!!!!! BY the way, You can enter up to three entries per poet/poetess...SO that should cause you to write your heart out for the Good Ole U.S.A.!!!!!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 31, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 350, Silver: 150, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 6 people
  • Final notes:
Ok This was an amazing contest!!! I only had to delete two poems which is in itself a miracle!!! There were some really awesome poems and it is so good to read and see and feel the love that still exist in and for AMerica!!!!After the leftwinged media would try to make us believe that there is no love for America this contest shows me otherwise!!! Thank you everyone who entered and always remember how fortunate we are to be blessed to live in this AMazing country called AMERICA!!!! Thanks again everyone!!!

Talking Toni, although I love my country, I do NOT always love its politics.
Just because someone does not agree with the war in Irak does NOT mean they are America-bashers. Right-wingers do not have the exclusive on loving their country.
There's no need to offend people who don't share your political views in order to proclaim your love for the USA.

      I understand That...

But for this particular contest I want NOTHING negative only positive whether it is about the war or just our country in general. We like all others as I stated in the rules have made our mistakes...BUt WHere is the outcry over the holocaust?? I had a contest for this a few months back and got only 7 entries because every one was so busy bashing the Jews...SO SInce this is the month of JUly the month of our Independence, I am only asking that for MY contest there are postive poems entered...That's all. I am sure if you love your country the way you say you do then you could find SOMETHING positive to say about right????? Thanks for helping me to clear this up for others who may have misunderstood what I was trying to say here...POSTIVE ONLY!!!!Hope to see an entry from you....smile.....God Bless America!!!!

    Toni,

Bravo to you for having a patriotic contest. Television distorts everyone's perceptions inside and outside. Unfortunately, libs control the media and our universities, completely oblivious to the fact that 90% of America is disgusted with the blame America attitude they promote. Their most obvious effort to turn Americans against the current administration and the war on terror is the constant reminders of casualties. That did not happen during WWI or WWII. It's WAR and the only way to win it is to fight until the bad guys are all dead or beaten into submission. They just don't get that, apparently. Anyway, thanks for holding this contest and good luck.

    Mark

P.S. How many Islamic terrorists does it take to change a light bulb?

None. They just sit in the dark and blame America for it.

Toni you go and stick to it I am so tired of defending my country on the home front... it is always people who never serve or have anyone who does who complain the loudest. This was a invisible war until gas prices went up. Then lives became important. you go Toni I am proud to know you AP friend they were always important to you.
