How To Kill a Fly
In three easy steps
1.) Position your hands a few inches above the fly as if you were about to clap.
2.) Clap.
3.) Wash hands.
- Mister Glass
For this game, choose an animal or insect pin for your title. Victorians were wild about everything from scarabs to snakes. You must google images of old pins and provide the graphic, either as a picture or with a link.
Go around to each contestant and look at their pins; ask if they will trade with you or not. They can say no! But by the end, everyone should have swapped pins in order to write their poem.
At that point, put your original pin in your jewelry box (author's note) and pin your poem to your page.
This is only for the Gold Pin! No German Silver or bell bronze for the Victorians.
Contest pin of fly and spider claimed by NeonRose.

- Contest was judged on July 11
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: Well, ladies and gentleman, it's been grand but it's time to close the lid on this treasure chest... I know I said I was only planning to award the gold but what I have here is a platinum and a rose gold piece, too, so I wasn't kidding. Look at what each of your keen eyes inspired when you brought these beauties to the parlor... thank you!

I must pin a blue ribbon on you ea, for such an artfully crafted contest! What a great idea and you've worded it so well!

come on, Paul! Check out Pamela's and my treasure chest of links below...

It sounds like fun but I don't have the proper high tech means to depict an insect (or anything else)
I had no idea the Victorians fancied insects. Always think of big stuffed animals in the parlour and wreaths of dried flowers under glass.
Have fun. -

Judy, all you have to do is provide a link and say which pin is yours in the title. Here's an example: http://www.morninggloryantiques.com/collectJelly.html
