Thoughts

Before we start, this is a PIF, the winner will pay forward a minimumof 400 points to start another contest OR they can give the points to someone who would like to hold a contest on their behalf...thank you.

There are two options open to you in this contest.

1. The above picture which is called   'Candlelit Thoughts' by Mark Braithwaite.

Please credit the artist if you use the picture for your entry.

OR

2.  'Thoughts Upon The Breeze'.

You may use either the picture or the saying, or even combine the two, I leave it to you.

You may make the poem a minimum of 30 words or up to 30 lines or anywhere in between...the choice is yours...they can be rhyme or free verse, but NO prose or lyrics.

The usual site rules apply.

No cutting, suicide or pornography, although sensual is always welcome.

I will DQ any entry that I do not consider suitable, without any reason given...if you don't like it... then I apologise in advance.

I look forward to reading some excellent entries.  Please give me your best!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 20
  • Rewards: Gold: 1000, Silver: 500, Bronze: 250, Honorable mention: 5 people
  • Final notes:
Well, you've all done it to me again. I am astonished at the quality of the poems that have been submitted, it was very difficult choosing the winners.
The gold by Thomas Scott was for me perfect, and it summed up my feelings on the picture prompt.
The silver by Allan Emery was again a completely different take on the picture and one that most women can relate to.
The bronze by breedluv I felt was perfect for the picture and is so relevant to todays event worldwide.
The Hm's are in no order, neither are the rest of the finalists. One of the HM's was Cricketjeff, who most of you know I run contests with. We have an agreement that we will enter each others contests but not take big prizes, this is purely a personal decision.
quantumsurveyor, Dalaney, cricketjeff and Gwenevere we all terrific entries and Dok's entry held a special meaning for me.

I wish that I was able to give everyone something for supplying me with beautiful poems to read, many which I will bookmark.

Thank you all for entering my contest, I hope you will enter any contests that I hold in the future...Sue
