Bitter Batter, Pitter Patter. come have a look-see!

The title is gibberish. Not the prompt.

However;

The prompt is: "Bitter" (much like how I've been feeling lately)

Or;

the Picture above, or both.

What you must do:

1.] I want raw, edgy, dark, eloquent yada yada...you get the picture.
2.] Credit photographer: Peter Lindbergh if you use the photo.
3.] Check your grammar.
4.] I want it to bite me. (And not in a creepy way, as in a lasting impression)

What you must avoid:

1.] misspellings

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Now go to it.
Reservations are acceptable.
Contest is Over
  • Contest was judged on July 9
  • Rewards: Gold: 700, Silver: 100, Bronze: 75
  • Final notes:
    OK. Firstly, thank you all for entering my contest!!!! I was quite pleased with the number of high caliber poems.
    Now, to the winners: It was extremely tough to choose between gold and silver!!!!
    Gold: "where is Valerie?" : You brought such a personal touch to this, delving into the true human bitterness of the terrible plight of many people like Amy W. who deal with drug addiction. Your words were simple, but extremely powerfully delivered.
    Silver: "Bitterness" : This was fabulous. You managed to craft such simplicity into a staggeringly bitter piece. So very well done.
    Bronze: "Medicine for the Grave" : You did an amazing job with the photo, and really brought out the bitter fatigue of the young woman in the photo, and gave her such a real life feel.
    Congrats to you all! Everyone should read the winner's entries. They are all MORE than worthy of praise.
    I hope you see you all in my future contests.
        I have so much bitterness
        that i'm dumbfounded
        that I can't come up with
        anything for this
        and it's making me even bitter-er.
