This contest is open to all on AP who know of Pamela A Lamppa
in recognition of the assistance she has given countless times
to countless people. Okay! A bit of hyperbole ... but not far
from the mark!
![]()
This contest #104 is in honor of Pamela A Lamppa on her reaching
a milestone but more importantly in honor of her services to the
Group Winklings and to poetry, itself, by way of creative pursuit of
it and thoughtful critiques. Pamela is also a very gracious, sensible,
sensitive and diplomatic lady.
She says of herself:
"I view poetry as a medium that invites one to evoke
thoughtful emotion.
I enjoy many different kinds of poetry from free verse
to the traditional school structured verse.
I will try my hand at all types when time permits.
And, I am constantly looking to improve my craft
and share with others."
Simple and beautiful sentiments!
* Using Pamela's ideas, write a fresh poem or two exemplifying
her attitude towards poetry.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 28
- Rewards: Gold: 3000, Silver: 2000, Bronze: 1000, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: Peteskid and RS Adams Jr: Their Judgment.
These finalists are each medal worthy poems and many of the other entries also, the task of selecting was not easy and was more a matter of two judges agreeing on most things and disagreeing on a few…T
Thank you Richard for your work, and kind patience…
I think in the end Pamela has seen so much admiration and caring expressed in these entries that she can know the sweet smell of the roses she has earned by her contributions to AP, her willingness to be a friend to so many…myself happily included.
The selections for awards areas follows:
Gold- Protected
A poem that seems to reach deeply into one person's feelings and then place a lovely remembrance and sentiment into the heart of another; the rare poem that does this with
thoughtful depth and beauty, excellent work, beautiful poetry.
Silver – the Synaesthesia of Poetry
Skill, art, depth of thought, and a determined style of presentation, almost an advocacy; and the reader can feel challenged to think more deeply or differently, a remarkable poetic achievement.
Creatrix- Bronze
A wonderful artistic and creative tribute, as poetry some amazing use of imagery, the transporting, evocative kind, leaving mental snapshots and impression in the wake of its sailing journey. Excellent.
Pamela’s Magic – Emerald
so many wonderful details of a person and personality woven here, the person the poet and the dreams…so very well done.
Rhyming the Moon – Emerald
A magical little poem lines filled with wonderful imagery and evocative of many more thoughtful images and ideas; an exceptional poem so very creative.
Thanks to all who entered and commented and in so many ways expressed their appreciation of Pamela…PK (&Richard).

PAMELA'S CLOSING COMMENTS:
I wish to take a moment to express how grateful I am for the presentations in this contest.
Some wrote about me; some wrote to me; some wrote about my thoughts on why I write. All of you touched me deeply and left me uplifted.
I raise my quill to you all in gracious thanks for such wonderful contributions. Thank you dear poets!
~ Pamela

I am not a winkling, nor do I know what one is. However, I have come across her and she has read some of my poetry. Please pass along my regards.

Congratulations
to Pamela for this milestone! (Which one?)
Anyway, I agree, there are few members of AP who are more active and fair-minded, nor more accomplished poets than the lovely Pamela.

She is Truly a Treasure!
She has been my official role model on AP
for a long time and has opened me to forms
as well as inspiring me to take myself
"outside of the box" over and over again.
She is truly deserving of much recognition!
Thank-you for hosting. Blue
