I have seen too many young people taking their own lives lately,
....and after recieving word of a Member of my Group taking her own life yesterday, it was impressed upon me by the Holy Spirit to say something ~
No, I can not say who it was, as AP has forbid me to do so ~
Personally, I know how tough life can be, as I was abused mentally and physically as a young child, resulting in my running away from home several times ~
I began raising myself on the streets as a male prostitute when I was 12,
.....and I never went back home ~
I slept in alleys....I ate from trash cans....
....and eventually, I became full blown AIDS ~
I have used every type of drug available....
....I became an Alcoholic
....and then I met my Higher Power,
....whom I choose to call, Jesus Christ 
That is when my life changed!
To be young, and to be able to understand all of this may be difficult,
....but after going through it,
..there is no doubt, life is, complicated ~
We all have tough times,
.....some worse than others,
....but over-all....life is just down right hard!
This is a time of independance,
....it's up to us......do we want to live.....or die?
We are responsible for our own life.....we have to protect it ~
I would like to know what you are doing to protect yourself from the grasp of death,
....I want to know how you make it from day-to-day ~
The words & thoughts you write, might help someone else....
....let your hearts cry if you must,
....but in the end,
....take a moment to share your strength!

Bear, I just have to say
Your a hell of a good man, you carry yourself with pride and strength, you have obviously faced adversity eye to eye, toe to toe and won. Thank God you found a choice and direction and have found the faith in your higher power that you have, it certainly speaks well for the light of Jesus Christ. You found hope when it probably seemed there was none and anyone that doesn't believe there is always hope, guess again.

Life is precious and it saddens me that one would end it prematurely. I know there were times when I had thought quite seriously about ending it when I was young. I hope this contest and the entered writes will help someone through a tough time.

I believe God takes them to Heaven before they ever actually decide to end their own lives.....only satan would convince someone to do that.....and God will have no part in satans lies........trust me.....she'll be there when you walk through those pearly gates!

Hello, Bear. What a wonderful idea for a contest. It is sad that it is so needed in the day and age. I know I have walked that very dark valley myself and I wish there was someone who could reach me where I was. I have to admit I still struggle, at times, with this battle. Yes.....this day and age is sooooo much more diluted than when we were young ~
The movies....violence/rape/shootings....the video games of hate and destruction......the trends of today which are covered under freedom of speech......burning flags.....you name it, these kids are going through it ~
Yes.....we had those days when we were younger.....but at least there was some consequences......these days, it's normal to be goth and wear satans pentagram with pride ~

This was a very important contest. I hope that somehow this contest will come up when young people do a search for "suicide, abuse, cutting, self-harm."
