"You all probably know by now that I am always on a soap box about one cause or the other but I am genuinely concerned about global warming and what we are doing to our environment. We all need to start thinking 'green' and pay attention to the size of the 'footprint' that we personally are making... So for this contest I want you to...
write a HUMOROUS poem with these being your options;
1. global warming and how we can change it
2. how we can make a better place to live by going 'green'
3. what we can do or are doing to 'fix' our environment
4. use the word "footprint' some how in the poem you write
5. or all of the above
You may enter twice but one entry must be a new poem
The mention of naked body parts are allowed in your poetry if it is in the best interest of the environment.
Prewrites are allowed but only if they;
* address the issues of the aforementioned options especially # 4,
*has never won a trophy in a contest before and....
*you also enter a new poem.
Be sure to add your name to your poem...it is NOT an anonymous contest. I want to know exactly who is working the hardest to "go green"
500 points for gold (300 points will be given back by the winner)
150 points for silver
100 points for bronze
30 each for (3) HM's
Usual Rules Apply:
1. No black backgrounds, please.
2. Rhyming poems are preferred.
3. All entrants need to vote for their choice for first, second and third place only (stating names of chosen authors) within 48 hours after contest closes. Please note: Contest will close June 22nd. Please send your vote by IM (Message) to huguenauties, not to me or King Hugh.
4. Officials may enter but cannot win. Their entries (only) will include "NON-ENTRY" in the title and are not included in the voting.
5. This contest is NOT anonymous. Please sign your name at the end of each entry.

I have decided to add some extra points to this contest just to help get you all motivated since every one knows we all want extra points.
Extra points will be awarded as follows;
50 extra points will be given for each new rhyming poem with at least 20 lines
50 extra points will be given for each new rhyming poem that uses all the options.
100 points will be given for the rhyming poem using the most naked body parts.
I have made 'rhyming poetry' as part of the bonus points because our king loves his poetry to rhyme and we want to keep our king happy otherwise we may end up in the dungeon...
Now have fun with this contest and give us all some real but fun options for 'saving our world'

- Final notes: I have babbled enough on this contest so will try to keep it short this time.

Things are shaping up well! I hope more Hugunauties will rise to the challenge and give us some really fun handfuls of GREEN stuff!!
(I nearly wrote one about naked body parts but I've had my allowance of two Non-Entries and anyway, my revealing pic of green boobs would be rejected by the mods!)

You could do like I did, Hugh... just put some green friendly birds and flowers in front of them Had to do something since I got the picture off of a porno site
Now before you go thinking that I spend my off allpoetry computer time at places like that... I did a search for 'green boobs' and actually came to the site (not realizing it was going to be a porno site so I clicked on it. What do I know about porno sites, an innocent old lady like myself)... first thing on it was those green boobs... sans the birdie and flowers. I couldn't resist saving the pic.

Thank you for the green, Ima thanks you too. He also thought there was money involved. He told me HM's got 10,000 dollars, but all I got was 30 points...I can't buy that cool statue of Hugh made out of cookie dough for just 30 points....

I'll do my best to come up with a contest that inspires you to do your best! Meanwhile, if anyone has any ideas for the next contest that they would like to share with me, please feel free to do so..in fact, I encourage you to do so!
Thanks again to everyone who voted for my poem. I'm chartering a bus to Washington ASAP so we can tell the PTB first hand exactly how we feel about the global warming problem and what we expect them to do about it!*
