In Lovecraft's story, "The Cats of Ulthar", character development is at a minimum.

This does make a nice, concise story that reads very quickly. What I'm interested in is the stories behind the story, what was going on in the lives of Zath, the coroner, Thul the Cutter of Stone and Atal, the innkeeper's son?
My challenge for you is to develop the story further! Build upon the foundation already set down. Give me depth and every day concerns. Don't start writing just yet! I have a twist! (but don't we all...)

You can enter as many times as you want, until I run out of characters mentioned in the story. If I get enough entries, we may have to do a bit of artistic license with the character list...
