This kind of goes along with my 'thing called love' contest. I was trying to clean my house yesterday & the kids kept getting in my way. I found myself wishing they were gone for just an hour so that I could complete my to-do lists. That is when it hit me...
I spend so much time wishing away the things that matter most. I grow weary of mundane home life. I find my mind wandering to all kinds of other places...
Someday, I will want my children there. I will want to live in the mundane world of real love & the happiness we have found. I will be old, lonely & wish back all those things I so often wished away...
The innocence trapped in blue eyes. The wisdom of a child's question. The walks we take just to see the wonder of God...
The moment doesn't have to be about your children. Just something little that most take for granted. Something that you know one day you will wish in your life again.
What we put away towards our future will be our only source of comfort when we get there. Whether that be love or money or whatever else. I believe we spend to much time looking for an adventure; when adventures can be found right at home, if one looks hard enough.
So look hard. Give me your perspective.
