I need poems that speak of todays freedoms and what it mean to be an American in honor of the Fourth of July Holiday. I want all poets to present to me a poem of glory and Uncle Sam's brotherhood. These are more qualifications:
1)the poem about one of the three topics in freedom:
A) being wounded at war and recovered from a serious injury to get back in the ACU'S.
a perspective of a Iraqi suicide bomber from 9/11 going through with Al Queda's orders. His thoughts and feelings.
c) What would you do if you where Uncle Sam this fourth of July for freedom?
DO NOT"S:
~ stiKY Caps
~miss spell
~good grammar
~serious poets
~think in the box!! (only outside)
~be political correct
~all or nothing here.
~no mud slinging (be friendly)
DO'S:
~Have fun
~support the cause
~be creative
~I want the best
~Imagery is good
~Be brave as a freedom fighter!

I can't see that refering to someone as a "half breed" is in any way bringing glory to the United States or its fighting men. Surely you are aware that many who give their life are of mixed race We used terms like "half breed" in old John Wayne movies, but it is terribly offensive to use it at all.

I'm a proud Republican but I agree with Man of Harlech. You're incendiary remarks are not only backward and outdated, you're incorrect in implicating Obama as a Muslim terrorist - "the same kind 'we' are killing overseas." In my opinion he's the wrong guy for the job - absolutely the wrong candidate, but you'll have the opposite effect spouting names like "half-breed" Shame on you!
Edit man... -
Do remember - there are others in the world besides citizens of the USA who are fighting, or have fought, for freedom!

I would hope that not one person enters into this contest that is so insular, biased and rather ugly in its concept/s. Also, I personally would not want to be judged on my grammar, for example, by a person who can not write (or be bothered to write) in reasonably decent English (UK or American). A sad reflection on some of the world's denizens..
