Nice job.....and ya know...I knew about 5 weeks ago, this Poet was coming from Honorable Mentions to win the Gold....and that they did!

So proud of this Poet...and what a terrific write for all of us to read this month!

Beginning two weeks from this Contest, we are going to take the PO' Contests to a whole new level of competition!

Be prepared to abide by PO' Contest Rules....obey PO' Contest Rules, and except PO' Contest critiques.....or......please do not waste your time entering, because we are not here to babysit, nor are we here to be ridiculed because of our reviews ~

My Judges have been with me long enough to know good Poetry, vs. bad Poetry.....and Clever Poetry, vs. Poetry which gives us nothing Powerful to read, and leaves us with no Impact, or Lasting Impression upon our soul ~

If you want to write so-so Poetry, the PO' Contests are not for you ~

If you believe we do not know what good Poetry is, the PO' Contests are not for you ~

If you have been through the doors of the PO' Contests more than twice, and you give us Poetry which is full of PO' Contest Rule errors, then the PO' Contests are not for you ~

From now on, we will DQ your write if there are more than ( 5 ) simple erors.....YES....( 5 )!

....and I don't mean errros such as poor grammatical choices....or....punctuation problems.....I am speaking of broken PO' Contest Rules plain and simple.....period ~

I have been accused of being crass...outspoken.....rude.....and not fair this week.....and it is not going to fly anymore ~

The PO' Contests were created to be Challenging to your Mind, Imagination....Challenging to your Quills Comfort Zone....and Challenging to your Pride ~

I am an outspoken Writer.....I am an outspoken Critic.....I am set in my ways, and I shall not be challenged by your pride or any Reviewers suggestive comments....and I shall not be changing anytime soon ~

I am in love with the written word, yet I do not proclaim to be the authority on it ~

I believe I have the best Judges around, yet they do not claim to be perfect ~

There is a simple solution to your disgust with how we run the PO' Contests....

If I come off as sounding rude....that is not my problem,....that is something you have to work out between your heart and your pride ~

I am headed to Arkansas to go pick out my new home......I am leaving southern CA Sept 1st for good........we shall see you back here next Month on the 25th for the next POM....I shall see you again for the POW on July 11 - 13......the next POM Contest shall remain open until 20 spots are filled, as usual.....and Judging will take place on July 31st....which falls on a Thursday ~

Your Judges will not touch your work until Monday, the 28th of July ~

This will be ample time to perfect anything which you feel will give you a better shot at winning Gold!

I strongly urge most of you to go back and re-read the Rules........too many of you are merely throwing writes in, hoping you'll win, and not paying attention to what is going to get you to that Gold ~

Being DQ'd is one of the Rules this Month ~

The PO' Contests have been here a year now, and unless you're brand new, there should be no reason not to be more attentive to what we expect from you ~

.....my Judges and I are not going to babysit anyone who enters this Contest ~

This sequence of Contests have been here a year now, and the ones who keep flubbing the same Rules, are ones whom have entered numerous times before ~

We have simple Rules for a reason.....and they are meant to be followed.......and if you choose not to follow them, we will choose to DQ your entry......there are no more warnings!

The Rules on this Contest page may seem to be a lot....but if you read them carefully, you will notice, they are simple Rules which are basically only Guidelines.....only a few actual Rules are in place for Contest purposes ~

Guideline/Rules such as;

* Creative Themes ~
* No Cliche' Poetry ~
* Watch Your Flow ~
* Uncommon Themes ~
* Challenge Your Quill ~
* Use Your Imagination ~
* Keep It In Poetic Form ~
* No Epic or Short Stories ~
* No Poetry in Forms allowed ~
* We Reserve the Right To DQ ~
* Watch For Proper Punctuation ~
* No Massive Cursing or Hard Erotica ~
* No Editing After A Judge Has Touched Your Work ~
* CAPPING every line is NOT allowed, unless required ~

....these are only expectations in the PO' Contests.....and they are there for every POD, every POW & every POM ~

There is NO reason why the other few Rules not listed here, can not be followed to a *T*

I have removed the first person from the
contest Bear...they just plain wrote something to deliberately break rules...I think someone who knows the contests and takes them as seriously as you and your crew do (myself included) deserves a chance to enter...

Have most of you lost your Passion for writing?

I am so disappointed with this POM Contest.....I have read 9 entries.....and only 2 of them have scored above 90 with me ~

If you are not here to blow us away, please give up your spot for those who want to make our jaws drop ~

This is NOT the way to impress me Poets......and Rule number one.......Impress the Bear!

Sadly, I have to go back and continue reading the other 10 entries......I sure hope someone wants to win in the next few writes.....or I can tell you right now, Red Speckled Teddy is going to walk out of here with Gold....easily!

Hi All...
I'm so sorry I couldn't be a part of this POM, or even find the energy to comment on each poem. But, I wanted to let you all know I've been by to read and see how things are progressing.

I really am sorry to see so many problems/issues with the rules, still. As with any contest on AP, we all look and ask for different things...just as you wouldn't enter an erotic poem in a contest for someone's sick grandmother,(I would hope, anyway!) why enter anything less than is asked for here? If you don't enjoy a challenge...there are plenty of contests where the filler words, "the, and, is, of, that, to" are more than welcome.

To those of you who can ~ and DO ~ follow the rules ~ KUDOS!!!

I've seen a few wonderful writes in this POM...congrats in advance to the winners, and wishing you all a beautiful week to come...Hope to see you in the next PO!

Just passing by. The requirements here set out by the zealous progenitor includes "no coloured backgrounds...only black font" So why is this page on virulent red on which, for those partially sighted, black tends to vanish and, further, has multi coloured fonts and sizes to boot? The logical mind can not quite get to grips with this.
