This contest is now open to pre-written poems.
The prompt is this beautiful painting by John William Waterhouse.
What interesting ideas come to your mind from this image? I do not want to read a lot of poems about a lady gazing into a crystal ball. Be more original than that.
RULES:
1. Please proofread and spellcheck. Your poem must be written in formal standard English with no gimmicky layout or typing, left-aligned.
2. Please avoid the following subjects: suicide, self-harm, erotica, depression, hatred (bashing).
3. Choose a background and text color which have good contrast.
4. Poems should be no longer than 50 lines, no shorter than 10 lines.
5. I have no preference as to whether the poem rhymes or not.
6. One should not need the picture to understand the poem.

A pity you don't allow pre-writes, because I have written about this Waterhouse picture twice already!
