Tell me of the things that have haunted you in the past. Some things you may want to ask yourself are:
Have you ever been abused in any way?
Are you secretly suicidal?
Are you crushing on someone you're not supposed to like?
Are you an in-the-closet homosexual?
Do you have a secret obsession with something you don't want anyone to know about?
Is there something you'd like to say to someone you'd never say out loud?
It doesn't have to be answering one of the questions above, it really could be anything.

1. Shoot for something between 15 and 60 lines. This is not a solid rule, so if it's a bit more or less, that's okay.
2. Keep it in poem form... no short stories.

6. One entry per poet this time
7. I am a harsh judge, so don't enter unless you want to hear my honest opinion.
8. I really like metaphors and imagery.

this is such a cool contest. the questions you said to ask ourselves are exaclty what i write about. I wish you were accepting prewrites. I will try to pen up some new stuff, but im not sure if i will have enough time

A real dark secret would usually not be explained here, where everyone can see it. Or maybe others would, just because it's the Internet. I have this poem I wrote half a year ago but never posted... something very personal that only one people knows except for the one who was involved in it. And yet... I don't really want to explain it here, where my friends and random people and maybe someday even family can see it. But it can be a form of expression to others, so this is a nice idea.
