The following wisdom was printed on my kid's juice box:
"He who throws mud only loses ground" – Fat Albert
Please write 25 lines or less inspired by this quote, in any form.
Looking forward to your creative entries!
(P.S. "Fat Albert" is a cartoon character created by Bill Cosby.)
The fine print:
I would love for you to enter this contest, but I must warn you: the winning poems in this contest may not be the ones you would have picked. They will be the poems I like the most. And since you have no way of figuring out what I will like, that means the judging will basically be arbitrary and completely out of your control. I do not claim to be a good judge, a fair judge, or even to judge (there is a possibility the winners will be chosen using a blindfold and darts). The winning poems are unlikely to have spelling or grammar errors, unless they are little ones that don’t bug me too much. And, I tend to value substance, style, and gut reaction over technical form. I like to be surprised, moved, amused, but most of all I like to feel very smart for understanding your poem. If I don’t understand your poem, I will feel stupid and therefore will dislike your poem out of spite. I may or may not add HMs. I guess the bottom line is, you should probably enter your masterpiece somewhere else if you actually care enough to be indignant about any of this! Anyway, you’re supposed to be writing for yourself and finding your artistic truth, not just to win a virtual trophy. I don’t care if your poem is entered in another contest at the same time, in fact I prefer it (takes the pressure off me)! And just think, you can always enter your non-winning poem into an “I got robbed by an idiot judge” contest. If you don’t win there, well, I weep for you.

Oh I LOVE your fine print! It's SO candid and says things I've wanted to express for a while now.
As F. A. would say, "hey hey hey!"
