Speculative Haibun

Write me a haibun with a science fiction, fantasy, or horror element.

Haibun are combinations of prose and haiku. If you need a more detailed definition (or a few examples), try a google search on the form and check out the haibun section at simplyhaiku.com .

Rules:

1. Please don't be a slave to the 5-7-5 form. Pretend each word in your haiku is a drop of blood: you don't want to spill more than necessary!

2. Don't make your prose paragraph and haiku simply restate the same image.

3. Use proper spelling, grammar, etc. Anything with more than 5 major errors will be dq'd.

4. Keep the prose part of the haibun under 500 words. Preferably WAY under.

Now get out there and write me some speculative haibun!

    Not familiar with this form. It sounds intriguing. Might be able to come up with something.
