GOOD LUCK, EVERYONE!!!!
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on July 1, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 400, Bronze: 300, Honorable mention: 25 people
- Final notes: CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!!! The pet Poetry contest is now over, judged, and trophies distributed to everyone. That's right, you are all winners in my book!!! I honestly had a difficult time trying to make a fair decision on the weight of these awards, as every poet's heart is worth far more than gold. But as I wasn't able to give you each the golden chalice... I wrestled with all the beautifully heart-and-soul-felt poems entered here, and I had to DQ poems by the same author when it was a double-entery. That was the hard part, but each poet was only allowed to submit one poem, sorry. I believe I've made a fair assessment of the quality of the work, the message within the piece, as well as my favorites with regard to the portrayal of love, compassion, humor, and sense of responsibility on the part of the story teller toward his or her insight on animal care. After all, this was an animal lovers' competition. But I also looked at all facets of each piece. I like originality, and particularly enjoyed the witty poems. There were quite a few poems with humanitarian slants, as well as parodies of the beloved nursery rhymes we all cut our teeth on while growing up in the child's fantasy world of the animal kingdom. I'd like to sincerely thank each and everyone for their hard work and devoted comittment to the love and care of our most innocent and unique creatures, the Poet's Pets. THANK YOU ALL, AND GOD BLESS. Peace, Cyn xx
