The Rules:
Keep entries to less than 50 lines and preferably more than 5 lines.
No inappropriate content including foul language, abuse themes or bloodletting of any kind.
Entry must comply with the given task or available options and identify the specific option chosen if applicable.
Stage 2 Destination - New Zealand:
Sir Edmund Hillary – a national legend / icon who recently passed away. Famous for being the first to reach the summit of Mt. Everest with Sherpa guide Tensing Norge who became a lifetime friend.
Sir Edmund Hillary embarked on several adventurous expeditions and was well known for humanitarian efforts especially in regards to Nepalese orphans.
(Pictured at top of contest page with some of those orphans.)
Write poetically about an aspect of his life.
OR
New Zealand is fast becoming a mecca for extreme sports.
Write about one of these; Bungy Jumping, Jet Boating, Zorbing, or Wall Vaulting (participants stick to a padded wall wearing a velcro suit). If there is another extreme sport that is noted as popular or originating in NZ then by all means you can write about it.
Through the rest of this series you will visit other destinations around the globe, each with a challenge relating in some way to that destination.
Each round, provided that everyone who is eligible has entered and no-one has withdrawn of their own accord, will see one of you be eliminated - only the top 3 on overall score will contest the final round.
Get your pens and paper and start writing.
Remember the Judging panel consist of myself (Errant Panther), crazylittledevil and Frozentearz.
Judging rubric for the entire series is as follows:
Poetic Devices ......... /40
