grace (or variations of the word) is your prompt.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/grace
Grace has more effect than beauty.
We sometimes see a certain fine self-possession,
an habitual voluptuousness of character,
which reposes on its own sensations
and derives pleasure from all around it,
that is more irresistible than any other attraction.
There is an air of languid enjoyment in such persons,
"in their eyes, in their arms, and their hands, and their face,"
which robs us of ourselves, and draws us by a secret sympathy towards them.
~~William Hazlitt

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on June 16
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 300, Bronze: 150
- Final notes: I throroughly enjoyed reading each and every poem in this contest, and even with only 22 entries it was difficult to judge - especially because there were many poems of equal merit that spoke to me on so many different levels. And it's exactly for that reason that I've decided against HM's.
I would however like to mention the poems by Cannonsfire, grm and pastiche - they were all longer than the required 80 lines but beautiful and so very well written. They made me regret my own contest rules, lol!
Thanks again, poets for your support and for sharing your grace this way. Congratulations to the winners!

When you finally come to the place where you achieve grace under pressure, you know you have reached a new level of life. It is nice to to have calm waves during a storm.
This is beautiful, as are you.

Yes, grace is indeed inner harmony. Your comment made me think of something I also believe in, namely that one can "see" someone's true character by the way they go about power or when under pressure.
Thank you, Trina - you are most kind

Yes, it will certainly bring out one's character. For a good, long time, it brought out mine. Once I gained self-control and learned how to keep my peace, I even like myself better.

Thank you for hosting such a grand contest, my Sister. Of course, it made sense, as you personify Grace. Congratulations, one & all. Be well, Poets & Scribes.
