    What a wonderful selection!
I've written a story about a Jewish captive in the Netherlands. It was inspired by that very story that haunts others to this very day

    I'm glad you picked this.

    HERE IS MY POEM

    Title: Gone

    Gone, with the winds,
Up high were no one can see me,
    Leave me alone,
    I am gone now,
Its to late to call me back,
My soul might be with you,
But the real me will never be,
I am trapped in your mind,
    Get me out,
    Let me free,
    I am gone now,
    So let it be.

JUNE CONTEST: THEY DRINK THE DEW

    THEY DRINK THE DEW
    by Salvatore Buttaci

    June
    roses
    drink
    the dew
    sweet nectar
    of gods
    who
    love their
    soft petals
    touched by the wind
    the tall way
    they stand
    on
    their stems
    like soldiers
    in fields
    of
    battle:
    proud

  • June Poem

    A man at home

    his face is stranined
    his hands curled tight
    into fists
    awaiting the fight
    with work today
    for you see
    after all this pain
    they'll make him leave
    he sees the look
    on his family's faces
    for he cannot
    be with them
    all day
    all night
    he works so hard
    just to be nagged
    and thrown aside
    a hand on his back
    tells him it's okay
    he looks up
    not knowing what to say
    to the little girl
    smiling at him
    he shakes off work
    and then he grins
