Welcome to my first contest! *jumps up and down* this is my first contest, so I'm pretty excited.
UPDATES:
Please, no more Cinderella poems! I've gotten a lot of those. Cinderella has never appealed to me, and now she's getting a little annoying. So please, don't enter any more Cinderella poems.
5/30/08 - Added 100 more points to the contest! And a few more options.
END OF UPDATES~~
First, there are a lot of Options. Please, enter a new poem for the options. If you don't lkke the options and prompts I give, then just enter some prewrites. Anything, as long as it conveys a message that touches my heart.
Oh, wait, the rules!
Okay, I'm only 13, so please nothing inappropriate for a 13-year-old. No emo stuff, no erotica, no curse words. Please. And if it's rhyming, then please don't make it forced rhyme. Try not to make any spelling or grammar mistakes that would distract the reader from the meaning of the poem. And, make it sing.
Also, after you enter, please don't edit your poem. This is because I want to read and comment on everybody's entries and don't have time to reread any. I will read each entry once. That's all, thanks!
Now the options!
Option 1
Titles:
No Boundaries
Darker Days
Whiter than _(fill in here with a word of your choice)_
Silver Flying
Again
Flames
Option 2
Write about something happy. Bring a smile to my face. (I need to smile more these days.) Make me laugh.
Option 3
Think about how you're feeling right now, or how you felt yesterday or a few days ago when something happened in your life, or how you might feel someday if something happens to you. Take that raw emotion and weave it into a cadence, paint it in the colors of language, carve from it a sculpture of song. Throw something together, and sing it from the heart. I have found from experience that the best poems are always from the heart.
Option 4
Listen to your song and let its lyrics inspire you. Put the title of the song in the author notes.
Option 5
Go to www.deviantart.com, search for the word 'fall', and let one of the pictures be your inspiration. Put the URL of the image you chose in the author notes.
I'll add more options and more points tomorrow. Enter as many times as you like, prewrites and options. This contest will be open for a long long time. Enjoy!
