Welcome to the daily contest about birds. I will post a new bird every day and you have to identify the bird, IM the name to me and write about it.
I will try to get the judging done every week day and Friday’s picture will run over the weekend. I will give only three trophies and 300 points for gold. You can write any kind of poem you want and I will choose whatever strikes my fancy that day.
You MAY NOT use the name of the bird in your poem or author's notes or title. You can use similar words (use your thesaurus), otherwise you give away the name of the bird ... which is part of the fun of the contest.
I hope you write and play often.

- Final notes: These two entries are so beautiful......I had such trouble making a decision on who gets gold. I can only give one gold, so to the other I will also send 300 points and let the silver winner pick the next bird (if you want). Well done poets.
