We have all heard of the hermit poet, that slightly mad person living amongst the woodland creatures. He's penning his poems and giving impromptu shows to the field mice. His breath hints of beetles and berries (and much worse combinations!) How this person's view of the world must be askew from the main flow of humanity.
I would like to see poems or stories about the hermit poet.
What is his day like?
Why is he up there in the hills anyway?
Why hasn't he seen a dentist?
What would one of his poems be like?
Is he compiling a collection of soul shaking verse to heal the world's ills?
These are a few of the questions I would like answered, perhaps you lovely poets could come up with your own queries. I'm very excited to see what you have on tap!
Now, everyone give a collective Bronx cheer:
(thanks!)
Da Rulez!
#&%$@# - Any form or style is welcome in the House of Cthulhu. I have no real favorite style, but am partial to free verse. Sticky caps really don't float my boat, but if it enhances the overall, gestalt picture of your verse, then by all means, bring it!
#71 - Play nice folks. No bashing of anyone or their beliefs. This is my only disqualifying offense.
#^*^*^ - I will comment on every offering when the contest closes.
#4.9241 - Prewrites are allowed - however, in order for your poem to have any chance of winning, it must be about your vision of the hermit poet.
# - Label all content appropriately, there's no reason for little ones to be reading adult material.
#59 - Points and Honorable Mentions will increase depending on participation.
#5 - Please, proofread your piece before submission, it's a sign of pride in your work and reflects the hard work you put into your poem.
Other than that, have fun folks! I know I will when I read your fine works!
