Contest In Remembrance by Uasal Laoch Aingeal

Having served in the military ad being deployed overseas. memorial day is a very special holiday for me. Three friends of mine did not make it back. Rel Ravago, Jerry Wilson, and Brandon Rowe knew what they were getting into when they enlisted and did it anyway. They knew what might be asked of them and they paid the price with honor.

The photo shown below is the Baton Rouge National Cemetary in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For those who have never been to one of the national cemetaries I would recomend taking the trip. Also I would never miss the opportunity to see Arlington National Cemetary in Washington D.C.

Now for the rules:
This is not a political stage, leave the politics out.
NoNe Of ThIs.
I'm allowing prewrites but they must follow the subject.
Please DO NOT have your name in the authors notes, I dont want to know who you are.
Keep the cursing to a minimum.
If your gonna describe the way someone died please dont be over the top with the gore.

For those of you who need inspiration feel free to read any of the poems in the list that I have provided the link for. They are my military themed writings. And in perticular look at the poem "Remember Me".

  • great idea for a contest to honor those fallen heroes, and also those still serving on battlefronts across the globe. just an editorial note "rememberence" as you have it in the title should be spelled "remembrance".
