Unrequited

If you've ever felt that twisted, gnawing feeling inside that is linked with the knowledge of an unrequited love or unrequited friendship, then you'll want to enter here.

So there you go.
One entry per person.
Pre-write or new write

I want raw, riveting feeling. Imagery. Intensity.
Make me cry or seriously want to cry. Make everyone else want to cry too.
It needs to be intelligent and coherent. No chat-speak lingo.
This is NOT just a pathetic love note. This is emotion laid bare and brilliant.

no excessive swearing
this is not an erotic contest. go write fantasy porn elsewhere.
whiny "emo" cutting poetry 99% of the time is not going to be taken seriously. I have yet to see a poem that is actually worthy of appraisail in the category.
No dirty pretty.
Keep it to a reasonable length.

I have the right to DQ anything I feel goes against my rules or is unsatisfying. You are welcome to enter something else if your original piece is DQed.

Bring your best written power to the table. Tell the world that you're feeling the pain too. After all, sharing is caring.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 31, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
I received some very impressive entries and some lacking ones as well.
Everyone who was kept in the contest should be proud of their written works. I had over 30 entries at one point, but many were DQed under the claim that they were not focused to the contest or the quality was not of the standard you see in the winners' poems. Therefore everyone who was not DQed, know this, I think you are all good writers. If you did not receive a trophy or HM/HW, you're almost there.
Also, please remember these contests are subjective. Every reader thinks differently of every written work.
Talent is something that is achieved through practice and editing, and I'm not perfect either. Keep on working to better yourselves.

    Well done to all!
