Jenny Kissed Me. Then What Happened?

Jenny Kiss'd Me

Jenny kiss'd me when we met,
Jumping from the chair she sat in;
Time, you thief, who love to get
Sweets into your list, put that in.
Say I'm weary, say I'm sad,
Say that wealth and health have miss'd me,
Say I'm growing old but, add
Jenny kiss'd me.

- Leigh Hunt

This is an oldfashioned poem by a 19th century poet. I've always liked it and I thought it would be interesting to use it as a prompt. You could make it purely reflective or descriptive or you could write a narrative about these two people who meet and quickly part again. Do they meet again? What happens then?

20 to 60 lines and I would like rhymes this time.

Enjoy.

  • One of my favorite oldies, too. Don't know as I could do it justice, but I might try.
