The contest is for those of us trapped by our daily activities as adults. It is about the desire for desire. Oh how the weary mind finds life eluding them and leaving them barren of the passion that was so prevalent in their youth. Give me joie de vivre; give me fiery intent. I am inclined to believe that the majority of us ventilate our repressed passions in poetry because life can be so mundane. Therefore I want the longing for childish wonder and the remembrance of passion in its rawest form.
I want an array of thought at an economy of words. I also require the poem to rhyme fluidly and have proper grammatical substance. Please keep your metre on pitch and feel free to give me gorgeous metaphors. For any points of reference, try Lord Byron.
NO vulgarity, no kids (they aren't jaded enough yet), and please refrain from talking about what you don't have too much. This is about what you want, what you miss, and what you long for.

- Contest was judged on July 6
- Rewards: Gold: 300
- Final notes: Thanks for all the entries. It took a while as I was away on business. Those few that made it into the finals were very enjoyable reads, and the winner was, to me, a rare and gorgeous poem indeed. Cheers!
