What do I beleive I am?

Who are we?

Does what we believe about ourselves make a difference?

Who decides what we beleive about oursleves?

Can we change what we beleives about ourselves?

What are we?

Are we desendants of apes or are we magical beings?

Should we question who we think we are?

Should we except ourselves as hard fact or fluid fiction.

These are the kind of ideas I would like you poets to at least consider before penning a new work for this contest.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on June 8, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
It is the age old question. Who are we?

And for age after age, people have crafted their ideas, theoires, theologies, philosophies, and beliefes about who and what we really are.

And it seems that no matter what we beleive we all end up thinking that our truth is right and that everyone elses must, by default, be somehow wrong or misguided.
I was hoping to entice you to share your truth, which of course you all did.

It was astounding to find out my own reaction to your writes. Afterall, How do we go about commenting on somebody elses truth? Surley our own truth can be no more valid than anyone else's, and yet, our own truth is all we have to comment with.

So congratulations to our winner with, The size of the sky. This peom summed up what I was looking for in this contest, a snapshot in to somebodys personal, intimate world.

Thank you all for your entrys. I hope you enjoyed the contest. Take care.

    Warm regards,

    Bigspiral.

You can enter it if you would like, just paste it in. I made a mistake with new poems only, 1 day left.

      Cheers.
