Suitable-for-Publishing Poetry Contest. Prewrites welcome. The subject may be anything EXCEPT woe-is-me type of depressing topics. Hint: Robert Frost is my favorite poet.
This is my first contest. I want quality poems. Prewrites are fine AND you may submit a second poem, if you please. I have a STRONG preference for iambic meter and rhyme. If you use formal meter, please state the style you’re shooting for (i.e. iambic pentameter, iambic tetrameter, trochaic pentameter, etc.) in your author’s notes. However, free or blank verse can also be very pleasing if well done. Clever use of poetic devices will be essential to make your free or blank verse stand out.

So you're saying ...
that poems have to be in iambic pentameter? -
-
Where did it say that?
Nope. Just that I prefer meter and rhyme. Once again, IF you use formal meter, just point out that fact in your author's notes.

I do not quite understand the purpose of this competition. Are you planning some publication? If so, please could you give more information about the practical details. Or doyou mean that this is a competition for poems that have already been published?
-
-
Sorry if contest title is misleading
Nope, no publication. I'm looking for poems that you believe are of highest quality. ONLY.
The title is intended to dissuade people from posting less-than-topnotch material. I've done all I can to solicit only the best AP has to offer.
