"If tomorrow never comes"

Please be kind, this is my first contest.

If you knew that you only had ONE HOUR left to live, and could only write ONE LETTER to someone, who would it be to, and what would it say?

REMEMBER:
- You are the one with one hour to live.
- You can only write to one person
- It does have to be an actual poem
- Please write as if this really was the last thing you would ever write. Nothing inappropriate, or it will be removed.
-If I have a critique for your poem, that doesn't mean it's out of the running. You'll still have till it closes for judging to "tweak" it.
- HMs will be added if needed, (and if my points allow). - Finalists will start to appear on list on Tuesday June 3.

I love writing and reading poetry, and at the moment ... my muse has flown. So I decided to look here for inspiration. Sometimes I like sweet, soft, gentle, prose. Other times, I like darker stuff. I'm not big on really sappy, dripping with sweetness. I prefer honesty, emotion, and yes... sometimes even pain. I like to feel what the writer felt.

I will allow multiple entries, since I know it may not be an easy choice to pick just one, but please limit your entries to 2.

I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Good Luck!!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on June 7, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
This contest was very hard to judge. I receved so many wonderful entries. Althogh some of the entries didn't fit the prompt, I found a few that could have won a medal or at least an HM if they were in a different contest.

Thank you for all the time, energy, heart, and work that went into making this contest so hard to judge. You all were great, and I look forward to reading more of your stuff once the contest is over.

No, I haven't had the pleasure. I kinda just had that phrase stuck in my head. My cousin just told me that it's also the name of a Garth Brooks song.
