- Help the Helpless - (Let Their Voices Be Heard) [Warning-Graphic Image]

Officially known as Myanmar

Cyclone Nargis-

Cyclone Nargis- Ravaged communities,
destroyed Lives of thousands yet Government Junta
continues to make it even more difficult
for citizens there
as the death toll increases each day. I cry for those left
with empty arms, who have to walk amongst the dead.

Imagine what they have to see- experience also feel.
Their Voices, the Government tries to Silence
after a deadly cyclone staged the first attack.

Take the disturbing images below- Reality of loss, then write from within~
What do these pictures speak to You?

Pictures are from Photobucket-
Artist Unknown...Sorry
Must credit Photobucket in AC if used...

Please s
tep outside the box...Clear Mind of unnecessary clutter~
Look around Your Creative self and then spill some ink...

You don't have to post Pictures with words...
but PLEASE credit: Photobucket
if You do.

I'll inhale Your written words, allow the energy
to bring forth images
...base decisions
on how the message makes me feel-
so write what the picture makes You feel-
[my comment will reflect what came through]
        ...no worries...I don't bite...

Final decisions~ I ask for Divine Guidance to help me determine...
and do not discriminate ever based on color, creed, religion, gender
or opinion governed by the Consitution or Spiritual walk You lead.
This mentioned due to the Voice asked to be heard from within You;

whatever YOU determine it to be...

Let Your quill out of its cage...

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 30, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 250, Bronze: 175, Honorable mention: 6 people
  • Final notes:
Wow and I am Honored to have read all Your pieces and heard Your Voices loud also clear~
I wanted to mention that this contest called for 10Lines MORE or LESS and in the past never had a question re: over the line limit etc~ some Poets write under 10 while some write over and it is *rare* to have several pieces choose the MORE category which I don't have a problem with as long as their is sustenance within the words~

which each piece did~ I cried hard!

    1. Nargis
    2. Arms of Humanity Yell
    3. Bleak

I had a difficult time with the Bronze for there were also two additional pieces that grabbed but finally reached a decision~

***HM's are in NO particular order for each piece brought forth Insight also a Message for me to grasp~ I could feel the energy and Passion You exhaled into Your verse~

There is one piece: Isn't It Lovely
whom I would have given an HM to for I respect the person's opinion and Powerful Voice -however- I could not praise the Happy feeling of thousands who died...It was not a Joyous feeling for me and I imagine not for others as well~ so I am sorry...but again-
I give the person credit for speaking out and mentioning that not many do care for it is true, many do nothing about it~

Thank You for Your time everyone and I am Honored to have read Your words!!

Horrifing pictures indeed! I just wish that it didnt take pictures to bring to peoples minds that horrible things happen to all people no matter where they are. If we had seen the pics of people in New Orleans like that there would have been outrage. Props to you for having the heart and guts to put pics like these on your contest. I truely hope you get some solid, honest and heart felt work from folks. God Bless.

I wish we were still able to applaud contests for I would applaud the mandate of this contest which asks of us to be aware and show we care. I have lost all confidence in being able to write, but I have added my name to a petition asking their government to allow humanitarian aid. Indeed the title is perfect, help the helpless, let their voices be heard.
