Morning XXVII
Naked, you are simple as one of your hands,
smooth, earthy, small, transparent, round:
you have moon-lines, apple-pathways:
naked, you are slender as a naked grain of wheat.
Naked, you are blue as a night in Cuba;
you have vines and stars in your hair;
naked you are spacious and yellow
as summer in a golden church.
Naked, you are tiny as one of your nails -
curved, subtle, rosy, till the day is born
and you withdraw to the underground world,
as if down a long tunnel of clothing and of chores:
your clear light dims, gets dressed - drops its leaves -
and becomes a naked hand again.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on June 3
- Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 300, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 1 people
- Final notes: Another contest, another fantastic group of entries... I had it down to 10 poems fairly quickly and then I got stuck. The problem I had was that so many were quality writes, but what made it even more difficult was that so many of you took this in so many unexpected directions and I like the places you went. So I read and reread them for a while, dwindling it down to three. I did add one HM, you'll know why when you read it...
The winners are...
Gold EdP for entering a masterpiece
Silver Cat for a stunning piece of minimalist poetry with a perfect choice of subject matter
Bronze Zayra for a simply beautiful poem with some of the contests best imagery
HM Cupcrazy, please read this one
Thank you all and look out for the next one

That's one of my favourite poems by Neruda... Love the contest idea, Al.

I knew this was coming...I sensed it everytime I'd bring up "New Poems" under the Poetry Column and kept seeing "Nude Poems."
-
-
you sound like a recovering catholic, my condolences...
-
There's a category called "Nude Poems"? What does that even mean??
That sounds like watered-down erotica to me, maybe? Nothing to be too terrified about, considering the bdsm blood-play poems I find on a daily basis.
hah I'll surely enter this if I can.

If I wanted to enter more then once, is that ok?

I think I have it set for one poem per person, so if you enter another it replaces the previous entry, i think that's how it works...lol
