**This contest contains content of a gruesome nature, which is possibly unsuitable for anyone under 16. Enter and participate if you wish, but the warning is here, so please do not complain to me if you stumble upon content you don't like. Also, there are likely to be spoilers in the contest entries and on this page. Do not read them if you haven't seen the film, because I will not give a damn when you start moaning that I 'ruined the film for you'. Again, you have been warned.**
I will be keeping this contest open until I get enough entries. Enter as many times as you want. Points may increase depending on the amount of entries and if I can get any more points. I reserve the right to close this contest when I wish.
"I want to play a game..."
That famous line from the Saw films. It announces the entrance of another sick Jigsaw game. A game where people are continually tortured. And though we know it's sickening, we can't tear our gaze away from the screens. But what would you say if this happened in real life?
What I want you to do is write a piece (poetry or prose) about the Jigsaw games becoming reality in your life.
Here are some options for y'all (because I know you love options):
1. What kind of sick games would you dream up if you were the Jigsaw killer behind that creepy clown mask? Who would be your victims? And who would be your Amanda? Would they stay by your side, or disobey you like the real Amanda did?
2. You wake up from a drugged sleep, only to find yourself trapped in a room you've never seen before. You're trapped in a device, or a situation, that exploits your worst fears. Then suddenly, a tape starts to play in front of you. You see a clown mask, and a deep, sadistic voice speaks...
"Hello [insert your name]. I want to play a game..."
Why has the Jigsaw killer chosen you? What device are you trapped in? What's going through your mind? Do you escape, or do you add to the growing list of the Jigsaw victims?
3. You wake up at about 3 am to the sound of a phone ringing. You groggily reach for the phone and mutter a sleepy "Hello?". The voice on the other end says:
"Detective, there's been another murder. The Jigsaw killer strikes again."
You hurriedly get dressed, and drive to the murder scene. Shockingly, you find that the victim is a close friend, acquaintance or family member of yours. Are you overwhelmed with grief or anger? Or maybe you didn't like the person, and are secretly happy that they fell prey to the Jigsaw killer. Could you identify them straight away, or were they so badly mutilated you had to rely on some obscure feature, like the tattoo on the first victim of Saw II?
That's all for the options, now for the rules. Any poems breaking the rules will be given a warning, and a total of three days after the warning to edit their poem. If it still isn't right after three days, I won't remove you, but you won't win.
The rules you must follow:
1. Please label all poems correctly.
2. Choose a readable background and font. If I have to highlight it to read it, it will annoy me and affect your result in this contest.
3. Make sure it is relevant to the contest topic. This rule is the one exception to the warning system, poems not on topic will be deleted without warning.
4. Spelling and grammar, whilst not crucial to win, does help me read into the poem better and will make me less mean when I critique your work
so do the best you can, please!
5. For my own sanity, please put your option number in the Author Notes!
The rules I will follow ((a contest holder giving herself rules? o.O)):
1. I will give you an honest critique. No, honest doesn't mean sugary sweet, but it doesn't mean being a complete jerk either. Many contest hosts make their contest into a reason for them being complete douchebags. I'm not like that.
2. I will only be commenting at the end of the contest, but I will comment every entry...eventually.
3. I will not turn into Medusa over spelling and grammar mistakes. Whilst I may not like reading a piece with spelling mistakes, I won't take away points for that. Everyone makes mistakes, and it's the feeling behind them that counts.
That's all! Have fun, and tell your friends to enter too!
