I like edgy, experimental, unique poetry (see my favorites for samples). I like rhyme only in form poetry. I like shorter pieces, where excellent word choice helps the piece stand out. I am a stickler for correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Write me something using those hints/tips and one of these options:
1. quiet delight
2. seamy underbelly
3. grass stains & giggles
4. meh - think of one on your own ![]()
Please note your option choice in Author's notes. I comment on all works and I am honest in my feedback, if you only want praise - don't enter. I prefer to keep contests as blind as possible, please do not rate comments or reply to me until after.
I do not like busy backgrounds or pictures added to works but you can if you feel you absolutely must add it. Left align is preferred but not required. Points will likely increase, based on entries.
Have fun ![]()
Oh yes - if this is not to your taste, I am running another contest also: http://allpoetry.com/contest/2404151
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 29
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 75, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Wow. This was a good turnout and I thank you for your time and effort. I had to review the finalists several times to decide an order and finally am decided.
Congrats to you all on fine works - I really enjoyed this contest. I highly recommend reading the top 5, who were all worthy of a gold. Each has a different taste and should be sampled!

You have some interesting poem prompts, but I dont believe that my work is not a style you care for. I may use some of your prompts to write a poem or two. They are great.

i love yer owl ...
... can we have a fifth option ...
wait ... ahhh
... well, does that fourth one mean you won't like it as much
... or can we kind of squeeze on into one of the other options that sorta fits and sorta doesn't?
-
-
Nope, it just means I was lazy and didn't want to think of a 4th
I'm pretty flex with writes inspired by the options so enter what you think fits

well I currently can't think if anything to write for this... it probably has to do with me not getting enough sleep last night b/c of studying..but anyway..so I tried something new with a poem of mine..'in the garden' I'd classify it as experimental lol...it was quite difficult to construct.

Not to worry, I generally don't close early so you have a bit
