Write Your Heart Out

This is my second AP contest, so I'd like to make it a little bit harder than my last one. I want this contest to be of the very best poetry you can come up with. I don't want prewrites. I want fresh poetry. Spend as much time as needed on it as long as you make the deadline. Now that I have that out of the way... On to the topic!!!

I want sad poetry. Not slashing-of-the-wrists sad, but mournful-sad. Like you just lost someone you loved and you can't find a way to move on. I don't want cliched phrases. I want fresh material. I want emotion and I want to be able to feel it deep in my bones. Hope that's not to difficult...

Some examples of poetry could be about:
•You just lost your bf/gf
•Someone close just died
•Anything that can cause sadness, such as the death of a puppy... Ya know that kind of thing.

Anyway, there's your topic, on to the rules!!!

Rules:

~No TyPiNg, LiKe ThIs!!! ItS aNnOyInG!!!
~No text speak. (dis is not how ur poem shld be wrttn. It dgrads the cntnt)
~NO ALL CAPS LIKE THIS. I DON'T LIKE TO BE SCREAMED AT AND THIS MAKES IT SEEM LIKE THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!!
~No prewrites
~No erotica (it doesn't relate at all to the topic)
~You can use rhyming or free verse. Whichever your best at and please make it your best.
~Put your name in the Author's Notes. If I like your poetry, I'd like to be able to read more of it.
~Please use proper grammer and spelling. I know mine isn't all that great, but at least I know when to use it. If its bad enough, I'll give you a warning and if you don't change it, I'll DQ you.
~Comment on at least 5 other people's poetry. It lets me know that you love poetry as much as I do and gives you a plus. Its not necessary, but it MIGHT help you win.
~Have fun with it.
~Do your best
~Last but not least: just to make sure you read all of this I want you to put "Pickle cheezballz" in your Author's notes.

I reserve the right to disqualify anyone who doesn't follow the rules. Don't try me.

  • Lovely contest! I do have some poems that will fit but they are PW. I don't have the muse at the moment to write.

Thank you for your generous invitation!
