Paint

** I will judge this contest on May 31st:)

Please reserve a spot out of 20 entries.
I will send you a link with a
paint chip of one - three, or more colors.

Please be inspired by the colors to write a poem.

I don’t want to read poems about painting.

I don't want to read poems about colors.

I want a poem, with imagery and/or story in it,
and with a mood/tone
inspired by the colors I give you.
You can also be inspired by the names of the paint colors.

If you reserve, please write a poem.

Take your time & I am willing to extend
the closing date for those who need it.

If there is enough interest, I will allow more
than 20 entries…

Rules:

- left align
- plain background
- approx. 100 words or less
- free verse
- poetic device
- no pictures
- sensual is fine

Please reserve a spot & I will put a link to your
colors in the comment box.

Please put this link in your author’s notes.

I am going to wait until all the spots are filled

or reservations stop coming in to give you all

your paint prompts.

Probably tomorrow:)

Have fun & take your time…

:)

I don't reserve for one reason, well there are two, but will tell you one. I never know what might come up and if I'll be able to fill that spot or not. It's also like waiting for prompts, how can I know I'll like it or/and if it will inspire me. I'll just use my green to write a poem for you in some other contest that has YOUR poem as prompt.

so - I'm assuming at 25 entries thus far, I can write without reserving? - neh?
    • Hi Kate...I would ask that you reserve...Heath didn't really understand the contest rules, I think...so I will forgive him

reserve...and I'll send you some paint
  • now, Tara, about that paint can with the directions you said i could write one about ... i have chosen the color gray, in all its dullness and hidden witty throbbing joyfullness ... so can i enter it as a multiple entry ...

but you have to let me use a bright pink sparkle background with green flashing bowling balls dropping into water ....

    waddya think?

  • Thank you for the great contest.
and congrats to all who placed.
