STAY.

FIRST OF ALL...
I would like to apologize to everyone who entered
my last contest. I wasn't able to properly judge
it because of some circumstances that came about.
It ended up being judged by the moderators and I
never added the extra points for silver and gold.
So once again, sorry for that! I hope you'll have
faith that this contest will go better! (Which it
will!!)


OKAY, WITH THAT ASIDE...
This is my fourth contest and it is all about
cheating. As stated in the summary, this is a
contest about;

-Being cheated on
-Cheating on someone
-Cheating WITH someone
-Being the other woman/man
-Wanting someone who is taken
-Wanting someone when you're already with another
-A mix of all of these!

I think that should give a clear picture of what
I'd like in this contest.


NOW FOR THE FEEL OF THIS CONTEST...
I'd like serious pieces filled with emotion, long-
ing, and heartache! I also love poetry with little
twists so you can try writing from another's per-
spective then reveal who you are or something to
that effect. (Just a suggestion, not a must!) Also,
I'm really leaning towards rhyme with this contest.
I'd really like to see nice flowy, rhyming pieces
but if you feel you have a strong non-rhyming piece
or even a free-write, don't hesitate to enter it.
Like I said, I just want to see some rhyme right now
but I definitely will not make that a rule!


AND ON TO THE RULES...
-Pre-written poems are allowed
-Enter 1-2 pieces
-Comment on others entries
(just out of courtesy, not so much a must)


AS A NOTE...
Ask questions! If you have a suggestion, or want to
enter something slightly different, or even have a
third piece you are dying to enter, ASK! Leave me a
comment on this page or a message if you want more
privacy.


ONE LAST THING!...
If you're in need of some inspiration, I HIGHLY
recommend listening to the song "Stay" by Sugar-
land which is what this contest is named after. It
is such a beautiful, heartfelt piece.

    Thank you everybody for entering! There were so many strong poems in this contest, I was VERY pleased with the outcome! I decided to add 3 HM's because it was just too hard to judge with only Gold, Silver and Bronze. It was still hard because I had so many preliminary finalists so I had to go back and read and re-read all the entries before deciding who I really thought deserved the win! So thank you to all the winners and everybody else because this was a close one!

    i love that song...having been in a similar situation, i can totally relate to the change of tone at the end...from why do you have to leave? to why don't you just stay there? good contest topic.

    This Contest sounds very interesting. I wish I would have seen it before, it is about to close so I am afraid I do not have enough time to enter it Great job though it is very interesting.

    wow, thank you so much for gold in this interesting contest, I never expected it among such varied and talented competition. Congrats to all those who received awards and to all for being inspired to enter. again thanks, I will pick my chin up from the floor now.
