Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on June 9
  • Rewards: Gold: 1200, Silver: 500, Bronze: 300, Honorable mention: 14 people
  • Final notes:
My apologies for judging this late and letting you wait. I have been in the rough roads of personal life lately.

I have a total of 92 entries when the contest closed. 87 stayed and of which I have narrowed my favorites - realizing I have 17 exceptional finalists.

I read the entries several times and have commented on most of the entries.

The top 3 were chosen because of how it appealed to me within and outside the imagery of our poetic world.

I added points and gave the other finalists HM as presented in random order.

Congratulations to all and for giving me a shade of your personal life.

Keep sharing the gift of words - 'The gift of poetry'.

    See you around

    Arcing Over

This poem was written originally for a dear friend and colleague who lost her husband in a sudden, unexpected way. It continues to be one of my most personal pieces.

With this poem I broke with standard form and subject. This is a show-me how it is from the inside, rather than a tell-me from the outside poem. It was also the beginning of developing my own style.
