THE COLOUR OF BEING...COALESCED~A Tribute to MAA

Please do NOT use the phrase as your title...
This theme is all about Maa
http://allpoetry.com/maa
http://mariananda.free.fr/.

Beautiful background by Pamela Lamppa
http://allpoetry.com/Pamela%20A%20Lamppa

Marion is a spiritual lady & my twin soul
on the other side of the world.
What I will look for are genuine & beautiful
pieces that pertain to elements that she
identifies with {or I identify with her}.

There is to be NO general "Happy Birthday"
writes; NO negativity or intolerance;
NO Entries Maa is already familiar with
{commented on/read/previously received}
NO entries just to win trophy/pts...
these are to be "felt" & meant...and fitting.

List of Corresponding Topics:
Roses
Willows
Animals (especially birds)
Mother Earth
French
Serenity
Colour
The Virgin Mary

All writes should include one or all of:
*SPIRITUALITY
*TRANQUILITY
*POSITIVITY
*BEAUTY

Each entrant MUST comment on her poems,
the more the better; I will be checking.

****Please include your name in Author's notes****
Do not enter your write in other themes while
it is still in the running here.

I will also ask for permission for reprinting
to be given in your author's notes. My intention
is to print and bind the finalists in a book to
present to Marion (of course, with proper credit}
I don't know as yet if I will make copies available;
I have my own book binder and will need to determine
a production cost before I could offer it to others.

Again, what I will be looking for:
EARNEST tributes to Maa
QUALITY comments on her work
TOPICS that I identify with her

No limit on entries~enter as many as pertains;
Prewrites and fresh are welcome
NO poem will be deleted from this theme; but
if you do not comment and do not follow the
guidelines; you absolutely will not place.
No line limit...but please,
no novels & no LESS than 8 lines
Thank-you in advance for your talents~~~Blue Rew

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 14, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 900, Silver: 600, Bronze: 300
  • Final notes:
    What a tremendous joy! I absolutely became lost in reading so many remarkable tributes; even the words not written originally for Maa seemed to speak knowingly of her and with great sincerity.
    Three big winners as far as points...but all of the entries touched Maa and myself
    and so they are all equally worthy in my
    eyes. I do hope to put together a memento
    for her to keep that will include these
    writes. Suffice it to say, everything in
    its own time. Thank-you with much sincerity for sharing this theme with me and for
    showing one soul just how special she is.
    Blessings, Blue

    Find Nature's wellspring rings repose. To her -
    when world-weariness spurns concrete tower, -
    we for unworldly wisdom turn, defer,
    she cultivates life's fairest karmic flower.

    Though men stay strangled by fake self made chain,
    Flow zen may tangled tie break, wealth braid gain.

      oh, jonathan,

      I wish maa would only possess 1 % of the qualities you attach to her so kindly and wonderfully through your witty verse of wisdom ...

      but it seems if we really wish for something, it becomes true
      so she's going to wish really hard ...

      thank you so much, dearest one

        this year's birthday has already been so special to me with so much love coming my way, I can hardly believe it (and have the tendency to say that I don't deserve it) ...

        maybe I will have to learn how to receive ... with gratitude ... just how to say "yes" ... (wow, that's a hard one ... )

          yes !
          it was amazing ... so many people came, the puja-room was packed ... jacques touched so many who didn't know him ... even my mum was there and she was enchanted, felt peaceful after the meditation ...

          what a unique birthday-gift ...
          I wanted to post a photo, but he said that he does not want any "personality-cult" ... he found my poem a bit "idealistic" ... speaks for him ...

            Hey Marion!
            Its great that you had fun at your birthday in your own way of celebrating it peacefully.
            Your mom lives in France?

            So you cooked the rice, dal and curry?
            Were they spicy?
            I like spicy curry.

    Happy Birthday, Maa!;)

    I wanted to at the very least drop a line and let Maa know, how special, wonderful and beautiful lady she truly is, and I hope she has, not just a wonderful birthday, but many more incredible birthdays to come..
    I've been so time-constrained here lately, and running a tightly packed schedule, that I do apologize..but I couldn't let her run off without wishing her a peaceful and blessed day!

    Love Ya,

      believe it or not, when I was a child, I found a dead sparrow in the school-yard, took it into my bag and carried it home ... there, I placed it next to my bed and communicated with its spirit ... I wasn't exactly living in a castle that time, (except in my head), but your vision has some reality for sure ...
      I thank you so much for your wonderful poetic offering ... it means a lot to me ...

    maa, I have only been on line for short periods. You know how much your presence in my life has been to me. If I have the energy I will write you a poem, celebrating your life. You have come so far in knowledge and spirituality. Your gentle voice, your thoughtful gestures, ALL have meant the world to me. I could never return the blessings you have bestowed on me, yet just your knowing how much you have impacted my spirit. makes me so grateful the earth was gifted by your presence. May your birthday have been one of peace, serenity, and fulfillment. My best friend died this week from a courageous battle with CLL, and I must write the eulogy for her funeral. IT will be joyous and a celebration of her life.
    I love you very much.
