Childhood Memories

Credit pic* http://yuripanda.deviantart.com/art/Children-34891404

I want a childhood memory in a poem form. You can write about school...first love...happy...sad...scared. whatever you want as long as you 12 years or younger in the memory. I don't want teenage stuff! I want more innocence and creativity.

RULES:
1. You can make it as short or as long as you want. (Don't make it too long unless it's really good!)
2. use imagery (place me there. i want to feel what you felt, see what you saw, think what you thought, smell..well you get the point)
3. I will allow prewrites ONLY IF THEY FIT THE GUIDELINES. (if they don't, I will disqualify you)
4. does not have to rhyme (your choice)
5. no form (unless you want to)
6. No WaCkY CaPs!!!
7. and I will comment on each poem (It only fair; you took the time to write, I'll take the time to read)
But I might view each entry as it comes in, but I may not comment until judging time.
8. Make it humorous, happy, sad, whatever story/memory you want to write about when you were a child! but i want it in poem form.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 2
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 3 people
  • Final notes:
This was the best contest yet. everyone entered a poem that was exactly what I was looking for. This was extremely hard to judge. I know everyones poem is so special to them and it's your personal experience so it's even more precious. And every poem entered here was SO GOOD! So I have read them at least 3-4 times and I had to just pick the ones that stood out one way or another since they were all so good. Thank you for entering! I may have this contest up again sometime
