Your mission should you choose to accept it is:
Draw a self-portrait with words.
Do not describe your existence or 'being' through everyday actions.
Dig deeper, beyond that sense of 'self' or 'I',
past others as - meaning
and into the
phenomenon of living.
You may not use the words:
I,
love,
self,
belief,
God,
heaven,
hell,
good,
bad,
evil
[ more may be added or removed ]
Easy, right?
There's more.
Weave your own understanding of 'existentialism' into it.

Not sure what existentialism is?
Existentialism is a humanism
as Sartre said ...but heres a link to get you started

I shall contemplate the fluff in my navel -
-
your navel will thank you
-
-
you may be sorry you said that... that could be the starting point for me
contemplating navel fluff; is it my enemy or friend? -
-
I don't care how you get there, or what entrance you use, just that you get there
-
-
hahahah

-
-
I look forward to it

Great Invitation!
Yes, I wish to accept! I think I'll read that link as well, even though I suspect strongly that I know what existentialism means.
-
-
Excellent.
-
-
heaven knows
right or wrong
i have a strong
sense of belief in
self
God knows i love the
good
the bad
and the evil
oh hell.
-
-
LOLOL
-
-
.. this should be great reading !
-
-
I'd love to see your thoughts
-
-
one could permeate
Existentialism
with a broad infusion
of ‘self and being’
and as two separate entities
within the whole sphere
of our universe
minute are these thoughts
and feeling contained
in minds confused by the
why, where, the when,
the here, the now, and the
very core of their existence.

i thought i was an existentialist at 14 when i discovered sartre et al
now i understand it is better to try not to think much beyond the mundane
i think that comes with motherhood when all the questions are to do with where the next meal is coming from i.e. "mum what's for tea/dinner/supper?"
so....
food - that's the answer!

great contest
elaine
-
-

motherhood... lol
don't ever get me started on that

thank you
-
-
ooh a Liza contest... maybe I should bite the bullet too been thinking on it for a while. (Can't believe the number of entries already...)
-
-
use it to polish your teeth
I can't either...
-
-
Oh, goody! Love the challenge. Bookmarked.

Maybe I can spur my muse with this one. lol.
-
-
hope you can!
-
-
Existentialism is such a great philosophical concept. XD
I will try to enter this contest. -
Chilly swore, hey that isn't playing fair, if we can swear I'd win this contest!

Biggest of the little Bangs

How can one be an Existentialist when they aren't free? And you aren't...read my darned prophetic poem again...I am God and I have a group to prove it! ...
So where's my gold trophy?
Oh wait I forgot to write something about man's Absurdity and how the struggle is the meaning of life...as my struggling for humor clearly proves here...

You do realize of course you're asking questions of Marvin the Martian right??

LOL if you wrote, I'd open another contest and give you gold just because you did
-
-
and the silver and bronze...I don't work cheap you know!

I shocked Rebeka once by entering one of her contests, anything is possible.
But that would mean I'd have to really try and that hurts my brain.
Poor Marvin
-
-
Ah no, it wouldn't be YOU, if it wasn't 'you' and that of course would be no work at all
It takes a lot to shock me
and so far no one on AP has managed

I like Marvin.
-
-
See that isn't fair, might be able to shock you but then I'd get banned from AP and I kind of like coming here...it is a challenge though but it would have to be fiction, I doubt anything I'd write in poetry could be shocking. I'll see...I did write a tale about a little girl cutting out a kittens babies, but of course I couldn't post that! lol But that wouldn't shock you, the shock would have to come from unsuspected notion, to cross some boundary so sacred and so incomprehensible, and against any notion of logic that you'd be reviled at the idea. Hmm,
-
-
ooooooo!
for a second there I thought I detected the faintest sound of wheels going around
-

'self'
Dam it! Has that been on the list all the time?
Had one of those in it and also have had to change my title!
Which is done, but the incriminating evidence is still hovering up there on your poem list... unchanged!
self, me, my, I, mine...
... Ah'

What's so hard about this contest? Here's a cinquain that meets all your criteria:
Swallow
your Monte whole
Paris; indulge the urge
to acquire what's perfect before
you die.
Damn! Just close the contest now and admit perfection has been wrought in only a few immortal lines...

if it's perfection
post it.
