Contest Miracles, Signs & Wonders by Maatkara
Welcome to my world!
SUBJECT:
To write about a real metaphysical experience you have had,
NOT fantasy or fiction.
That is, something you have personally seen, felt or encountered in some way which was proof to you that higher (extra-sensory) forces were involved.
e.g. a vision, premonition, telepathy, clairaudience, synchronicity, a miracle or out-of-body incident.
(Clairaudience: the faculty of perceiving, as if by hearing,
that which is inaudible.)
GUIDELINES:
1) You may submit up to 2 entries per person (prewrites and/or new),
but only if the 2nd is a different subject or incident.
And yes, that does mean per person, not 'per user identity'!
2) You may submit any form or style of poetry you are most
comfortable with, preferably not epic.
3) You may not use profanity (without a damned good reason!).
That is, nothing that would require an 'Adult' category. Nothing nasty.
4) You may not ridicule, parody or satirize the subject.
Find another contest for that.
Humour is fine if relevant to the actual situation being described.
5) Correct spelling and grammar are mandatory!
6) Take care with your choice of background and text colours.
If you make them difficult to read (e.g. red on black etc.), they may not be considered.
PROCEDURE:
A) If I see any spelling or grammatical errors in your entry I cannot alert you by IM as this is an anonymous contest, so it will be up to you to double check and correct them before the closing date.
Tip: ask a less grammatically challenged friend to proofread.
(If any errors remain, those entries will not be considered
for any trophy.) I will accept American spelling.
B) Your entries will be judged on the quality of your writing and ability to
convey your experience in poetic form.
It is not a contest of who had the more 'impressive' experience.
C) If you read anything of mine, for background on your judge,
I would recommend you do not comment if you have entered
(or are about to enter) this contest.
NOTE: If you feel you need further clarification of any of the above,
please don't hesitate to ask. Blessings to all.
Points:
1st: 2000
2nd: depends on quality, if awarded.
3rd: depends on quality, if awarded.
Those found worthy of Honourable Mentions (if any) will receive 50 points each.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 23
- Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 750, Bronze: 325, Honorable mention: 1 people
- Final notes: On behalf of chief judge, Gennelle, I congratulate the author of "Sea-Change" for its excellence and in its maintaining of Winklings' high standards. A fine Gold Trophy Poem.
Silver: "Connections" inspired us with its simplicity and ability to deliver as a poem.
"No Limits" enabled readers whose thoughts rarely pass this way, to stand still and deliberate, ponder and, yes, meditate. A fine bronze.
"Tornado" wins an award as an Honourable mention. It does have occasional glitches but it is a very powerful poem.
Finally, we have a finalist. I shall send you 25 points. It is a mirror poem of consequence: "My Heart Lives on the Other Side".
Many poems were worthy but lacked poetic finesse, English usage excellence or really following specifications. Even so, we thank you all for your fine participation.

Finally: Gennelle as Maatkara is a very busy Moderator Leader and, as such, has been most generous in her time as a wonderful Winkling here, in this instance. Thank you Gennelle.

um...does paranormal stuff count?
-
-
like 2 different paranormal incidents...

I was wondering if seeing my great grandmother sweeping our kitchen counted...because she had been dead three months. that among many other things, including a mop moving by itself, and being pushed down the stairs by something unseen.
I prefer not to talk about my...precognitive dreams...
