In magic, the dragonfly symbolizes transformation.
Specifically, we are looking for verse that revolves
around the feminine spirit transformed by love's
joy or pain...beauty that finds her inner flame.
There will be thirteen entries allowed only
Don't Give-violence, spiritual intolerance,
humor, sarcasm or HATE
We're not accepting of cutting, sucicide, or vulgarity; Sensual & tasteful erotica are always welcome as well as dark themes (see the Don't list).
*****Also, Please Note******
In hosting, it bothers me to see a poem
entered in simultaneous contests.
If you feel the need to expose your writing
in such a way; Best of luck to you...
But be aware it will probably hurt your
chances of recognition within this competition.
Keep words interesting & expressive
Vocabulary use is most appreciated
metaphor and personification are personal fav's
I also appreciate expressive use of forms.
Be sure to label appropriately.
No line limit...but please,
no novels & no LESS than 8 lines;

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 5, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 1500, Silver: 900, Bronze: 600
- Final notes: My cohost and I just want to say we were
ecstatic about the quality of writes entered here! Amazing theme that was difficult to judge but a great pleasure to read over and over again as we tried to
narrow our decision. We believe the winners
displayed best the concept of transformation as it applies to the feminine. We can only hope many of you found the inspiration to enter our "Dragon"
theme too! In appreciation, Blue & Ithica
